St Agnes, Cornwall

Red Rock undertook a ground investigation for foundation and slope stability design for the re-development of a residential property at St Agnes.

Access to some sites requires designs to be based on expected ground conditions from adjacent areas, with on site observations to confirm the design assumptions during the works.

In view of the difficult access and poor quality of the slope outcrops, the stabilisation of the slopes prior to the construction of the building were recommended to allow safe working areas below the stabilised cut slopes and avoid the need for large and heavy retaining structures.

With overall cuts in excess of 10m high and mining features identified during construction works, a combined soil nailed solution for the upper materials and a rock anchoring solution for the lower parts of the cut slopes was developed for this new development.
