Brixham, Devon

Red Rock undertook the slope stabilisation design required to improve, to acceptable levels, the stability condition of a former quarry slope at the rear of building property.

Following Storm Imogen in February 2016, an extensive 10m high section of the slope between two properties collapsed, putting in peril the stability of the structures at the top and the properties below.

Red Rock design a rock anchor scheme, with mesh and shotcrete surface to stabilise the toppling rock blocks and poor quality rock mass. In addition, the works required excavation of the lower section of the cliff.

Very restricted access was overcome by solutions developed by Vertical Technology Ltd which implemented the stabilisation measures.
