Shear Solution

In the last few weeks, despite the appalling weather, Red Rock have been monitoring the earthworks construction for a high embankment adjacent to the A303 to comply with Highways England DMRB CD 622 certification requirements. This photo shows ‘Bekka’ inspecting the construction of the ‘shear key’ beneath the proposed embankment slopes, to ensure their stability by disrupting periglacial shear surfaces identified within the near-surface strata.
