Red Rock Geoscience is a geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy who has a reputation for solving problems on difficult development sites and taking a managed risk approach to challenging geotechnical and geo-environmental problems.

We are looking to recruit Principal Geotechnical Engineers to support our geotechnical design services for a wide range of clientele on a variety of local, national and international projects.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your career and technical knowledge within our close-knit ground engineering team, often in support of other design disciplines.

We have a great list of current projects including:

- Slope and cliff stability assessments in some of the most scenic parts of the UK,

- Soil and rock slope stabilisation design,

- Engineered earthworks and ground improvement,

- Foundation designs on geologically challenging sites and high-rise developments,

- Contiguous pile / sheet pile retaining structures.

We are seeking candidates that are confident, numerate, technically proficient and prepared to think outside the box. You will be involved in all aspects of the business including client liaison, preparing estimates, and managing junior members of staff. You will be comfortable in communicating with other design disciplines (e.g., structural and civil engineers) on multi-disciplinary projects.

You will be based at our easily accessible offices just outside Exeter, which has ample parking, and we offer a flexible working environment.

Whilst some projects will be based in the local area, the role may also involve working on projects in other locations throughout the UK and even overseas.

Essential Criteria:

- BSc degree level qualified in Geology, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or a related subject.

- Preferably an MSc in Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering.

- Chartered Engineer or Geologist (CGeol or CEng)

- Ideally 5-10 years relevant experience.

- The ability to lead teams working on projects.

- The ability to organise your own work and time management and supervise less experiences team members.

- Full UK driving licence.

- Good verbal and written English.

- Good interpersonal skills and being a team player who can inspire others to achieve project goals through combined team effort and synergy.
